Missing You...

Lying in my bed awake,
The seconds slowly count down
To that unknown day
When I can say
“I’ve missed you!” To your face.

When I can hug you tight
And keep you close
With all my might
Much time will pass
Before I’ll let you loose.

I will look into your eyes
For the fist time in my life
Knowing that I have found
A diamond in the rough.

Tears will be running down my face
From the joy and happiness I will feel
And the world around us will stop
As we savor the precious moment
…together…

The pure happiness I will feel
Will be like nothing I have ever experienced before
And as we leave the building
Walking hand in hand
Our countenance with shine
Like the rising morning sun
We will begin a new chapter together
That will last for the rest of our lives.

But I continue waiting
Allowing those many seconds to pass by
Before I will get to see you
I am just about to cry…

A Self Realization - and the Pathway to Understanding

I have often thought about the strange feelings of commitment and adoration we as human beings have towards one another.
The fact that a person would give their own life to save another's, based purely on the emotional bond they share, is extraordinary.
No other emotion is so strong, so pure and so real that mortality becomes insignificant in the light of someone else's happiness.
We, as humans, label this unique emotion with the broad tag of love.
It is something fundamentally complex, yet realistically simple.
For centuries the great philosophers and great thinkers of each generation have compared this love to many things; most of which falling under these three categories:
  1. Strong
  2. Delicate
  3. Ever Lasting

But I believe that love is something that doesn't need a fanfare to make it known and it doesn't need money to be shared. Love is something that can be explained with a simple act of trust ~ the act of giving someone your whole heart.

That trust they then hold within themselves is the foundation for their love and commitment to each other.

It is something, that when achieved, is immovable and unalterable.

Until a small crack spreads throughout and shatters the whole.

It is special,

It is unique,

and it should be cherished;

...it is an ever growing process that I have failed...
